Day 2 (January 2, 2013) – Portobelo, Panama
Because of a road closing I had to walk about a half a mile to the center of Portobelo, a small sleepy port town known for its Cristo Negro (Black Christ) statue. When I saw this beautiful cross surrounded by lush greenery on my way into the town, I knew I had to capture it. I waited about 10 minutes until some local residents were walking by before hitting the shutter release. The young girl noticed me before she walked into the frame and kept her stare as I captured this image.
