Day 18 (January 18, 2014) – New York, NY (Chinatown)

This project is reminding me how much I love street photography. When people ask me to describe my photography I always say that I just attempt to capture the hidden moments of life. I find beauty in the mundane and intrigue in the eyes of each passerby. Equally fascinating is the built environment that surrounds us everyday. Over the years I’ve trained my eye to spot unique architectural elements in buildings or symmetry in lines and curves that will translate well in an image. As I walk around in Chinatown this chilly Saturday I found an older couple huddled by the side of the building looking or waiting for someone. Shooting from the hip to go unnoticed, I captured this image and then continued my walk through the busy New York streets.
