End of Summer

DAY_248jpgDay 248 (September 6, 2014) – Brooklyn, NY

The last heat wave of the summer brings open fire-hydrants in the hood. How else are you going to cool off in 90 + weather? Everyone knows fire hydrants are the hood’s cooling station. I guess without a swimming pool you just got improvise. I remember in my younger years walking around the streets of Uptown looking for an open hydrant to run through.  This was the best of summer and days of innocence. We danced through the water splashing and carrying on…until the cops or firemen came by to shut the hydrant off under protest. Today….there are no cops in sight…if I didn’t have my camera in tow I might just run through the water and cool off for old times sake.
